What is hand-woven leather?
Hand-woven leather is a leather upper worked strand by strand, by hand, over the shoe's last. Each pair of the Clover Woven Loafer by Black Tulip takes approximately 8 hours of weaving.
How does the Clover Woven Loafer fit?
True to size. We make whole sizes only, UK 3 to 8 — order your usual size. The weave flexes where your foot flexes and softens with wear without losing its shape.
Can you wear loafers in winter?
Yes. The Clover Woven Loafer is a closed flat with an anti-slip sole, and it works with tights and socks — a 0.8 cm flat for the months between sandals and boots.
How do I care for hand-woven leather?
Clean gently with a soft dry cloth, use a neutral leather conditioner lightly on the woven sections, and store it in its dust bag. Don't over-saturate the weave; avoid prolonged moisture.
Why is the Clover made in small numbers?
Because the weave sets the pace: approximately 8 hours of hand-weaving per pair means limited quantities. Each pair is completed by hand in our family's shoe factory.
Can I exchange or return if the size is wrong?
Yes. Exchanges are free, both ways. Store credit is free; a refund costs £7 per item. You have 30 days from the day your order is delivered.
